Title: Pakistani Startups Introduce Sullis Hajj Card for Cashless Pilgrimage Experience
In a groundbreaking collaboration, Pakistani startups MyTM and Zindigi, alongside JS Bank and MasterCard, have unveiled the Sullis Hajj Card. This innovative financial product aims to provide pilgrims with a seamless cashless experience during their spiritual journey.
MyTM, renowned for its digital payments and financial services, and Zindigi, one of Pakistan’s pioneering fully digital banks, have joined forces with JS Bank and MasterCard to introduce a solution to the financial transactions typically associated with the Hajj pilgrimage. Traditionally, pilgrims encounter numerous financial transactions, from visa fees to accommodation and transportation, during their journey. The Sullis Hajj Card eliminates the need for cash, offering pilgrims a convenient and secure way to manage their expenses.

Jawad Mahmood, CEO of MyTM Saudi Arabia, expressed excitement about the initiative, emphasizing that it marks the first time in Pakistan that a cashless Hajj experience has been made possible. The Sullis Hajj Card promises reduced charges and eliminates taxes typically associated with international transactions, providing pilgrims with favorable exchange rates, easy money withdrawal, and widespread acceptability across Saudi Arabia and beyond.
The launch event for the Sullis Hajj Card took place in Islamabad, Pakistan, on May 6, 2024, attended by officials from MyTM, JS Bank, Zindigi, and MasterCard. This collaboration reflects a commitment to enhancing the Hajj experience and aligns with both Pakistan’s national financial inclusion policy and Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030, which prioritize the development of digital economies.
With Pakistan’s Hajj quota set at 179,210 pilgrims this year, the Sullis Hajj Card is poised to revolutionize the pilgrimage experience for thousands. Applications for the card opened on May 15 through the MyTM app, ahead of the pilgrimage expected to run from June 14 to June 19. Rizwan Saeed Qureshi, an additional secretary for the Middle East in Pakistan’s foreign ministry, hailed the initiative as a positive step for the country’s fintech sector and expressed hope for its success and expansion to encompass the entire Hajj operation.
The introduction of the Sullis Hajj Card marks a significant milestone in facilitating a cashless pilgrimage experience, offering pilgrims convenience, security, and peace of mind as they embark on this sacred journey.
